Arbitration process

The Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities has an Arbitration Service in accordance with section 16 of the BGG. The Arbitration Service has the task of resolving conflicts between people with disabilities and federal public bodies.

You can involve the Arbitration Service if you are unsatisfied with the responses you receive after contacting us via the above channels. The aim of doing so is not to decide on a “winner” or “loser”. It is to find a solution to a problem together, out of court, with the help of the Arbitration Service.

The arbitration process is free of charge. You do not need legal representation.

You can find everything you need to know about the arbitration process on the website of the Arbitration Service. This includes how an arbitration process unfolds and how you can submit an arbitration request. You can also submit this request in simple language or in German sign language.
